Jonas d’Adesky

Jonas d’Adesky is a Belgian-Rwandan screenwriter and director born in Brussels. He is also trained as a sociologist. In 2010, his graduation film at the IAD (Institut des Arts de Diffusion), Nuit Blanche, was selected for several festivals. Shortly afterwards, he left to volunteer in Haiti. It was there that he met the children who would become the actors in Twa Timoun (Three Kids), his first feature-length fiction film, which was shown at Toronto and the Berlinale, before winning the prize for best Caribbean film at the Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival. Through his films, Jonas tries to explore the question of transition. What goes on inside us at those pivotal moments in our lives?
