Julie Keeps Quiet selected for Semaine de la Critique

Julie Keeps Quiet by Leonardo Van Dijl is selected for the Critics Week (Semaine de la Critique) at this years edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Leonardo van Dijl is a writer and director based in Belgium. His latest short film Stephanie (2020) was selected for the Official Competition of Cannes, San Sebastian and TIFF as well as over 150 other film festivals where it received various national and international awards. Julie Keeps Quiet is his feature debut. It was co-written with Ruth Becquart.

In Julie Keeps Quiet, star player at an elite tennis academy Julie’s life revolves around the games she loves. When her coach falls under investigation and is suddenly suspended, all of the club’s players are encouraged to speak up. But Julie decides to keep quiet…

The film is produced by De Wereldvrede and co-produced by Hobab and Film i Väst. A part of the post production was made by Auditory and Tint in Region Västra Götaland.

In June 2023, Julie Keeps Quiet was one the of six projects selected for support in the second round of international film production fund New Dawn.
